Val Henderson died peacefully surrounded by many who loved her at St. Joseph’s Hospice, on Tuesday October 22, 2019.  Throughout her almost 84 years she lived life passionately! She was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a nana, an athlete, a beauty, a scholar, a playwright, a musician, a singer, a true artist, and an inspiration. She loved her family, her friends, finance, and the “great debate”. She will be sadly missed by her family: Sue Dawe (Bruce), Mary Jo Shearer (Stanley-deceased 2019), Brenda MacAlpine (Bill), Diane Packer (Jim), Janice Balog (Rick), Kate Henderson (Steve), Lisa Henderson (Tom), Pete Henderson (Chilo), Sean Henderson, Alex Dawe (Jacqui), Erin McGillivary (Keegan), Lyndsay Doran (Chad), Allison Packer, Mason Packer, Cameron MacAlpine, Ryan MacAlpine, Oscar Henderson, Cleveland Henderson, Aris Tyros, Lauren Tyros, and Gwen Leach. She will be sorely missed by all, but we know that wherever she is, she is continuing to do it “her way” and is once again on the dance floor with the love of her life, Peter. The family would like to thank Dr. Kim and all the medical staff who took the time to listen and support our mom so that she could live with style and panache. A Celebration of Life will be held this Saturday, October 26, 2019 at McCormack Funeral Home - Stewart Chapel - 254 George Street, Sarnia, ON., from 2-4 pm.
