Mary Winefred "Winnie" Cox
Peacefully and with dignity, Winnie passed away on Wednesday, December 2nd, 2020 at Vision Nursing Home in Sarnia, at the age of 98. She was predeceased by her husband Morrell Cox (1996), son Douglas (1946), parents Mary (1970) & John (1990) Robertshaw, and siblings William (1992) and Francis (1998). She was the loving mother of Karen Reyneker (Hank) and Gail Hopkins (Barry). Her pride and joy were her grandchildren David Syrie, Stefanie Syrie, Deny Di Felice (Rob) and Lindsay Hill (Jordan) and great-grandchildren Baya and Hunter Watson, Hunter and Greyson Hill, Luca Di Felice, Micaella Shewchuk and Alexandra Di Felice. She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by several nieces. After retiring from Polysar, Winnie enjoyed travelling, camping, golfing, cards and activities at Parker Street United church, but her true love was spending time with her family. Winnie was a Covid survivor from the early stages of the pandemic. Due to Covid restrictions, a private family service is being held at McCormack Funeral Home. Those wishing to donate on Winnie’s behalf may do so to St. Joseph’s Hospice or Sarnia Lambton United Way. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of the Superior wing at Vision Nursing Home for their care, friendship and love during Winnie’s stay.
