Granlund, Marie Yvonne (n.Hayter)

Marie went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Bluewater Health, Sarnia. She was 82 years old. Marie was the beloved wife for 21 years of Frank Granlund (1987). Loving aunt to Robin Laliberte and family, Randy Matheson & family, Lewis Matheson & friend Connie Byrns, and nana to Ethan Matheson. She will be missed by her sisters, Helen Mcleod & Cline Marshall (Doug), predeceased by her 5 other siblings, Ilene, Myrtle, Charlie, Guy, & Sheldon. She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews in Nova Scotia and by all her Norway Ave. friends and neighbors. Special Thanks to Dr. Lily and the entire Bluewater Health Team, her niece and nephew Janet & Ron Cogswell, and special family friend, Randy Carter for their time and care during Marie’s illness. Marie was born in Cardigan, Prince Edward Island, then moved to Queensland, Nova Scotia at the age of 6. After a brief stay, she moved on to Halifax and then moved to Lansdown near the end of the war.  Marie moved to Sarnia, Ontario in the early 50’s along with her sister Myrtle & husband Rob. Marie eventually met Frank and were married in 1966. Marie spent many years attending Temple Baptist Church and Huron Baptist Church. Friends will be received at the McCormack Funeral Home, 254 George St. (at College Avenue) Sarnia, on Saturday, September 8 at 11:00 am. for the service followed by Interment at Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation beginning 1-hour prior at 10 am. Remembrances and condolences may be expressed to the family online in “Marie’s Guestbook” at mccormackfuneralhomesarnia.com.   Donations to the Bluewater Health Palliative Care or Pathways Health Centre for Children in Sarnia.
