Obituary Announcement

Martin, Linda Margaret (nee. McEachren),

Linda was born on July 14, 1944, she passed peacefully on Friday, February 8, 2019, at Sarnia Bluewater Health Centre at the age of 74, her devoted husband Peter of 55 years by her side. Linda was the caring mother of Dawn Mawson (Jamie) and Tina Martin (Tim). She will be sadly missed by her family and friends from Corunna, Bayfield and Florida. She will be dearly missed by her Aunt Millie Barry (nee. Hill), her Aunt Betty McEachern, and grandchildren Haley (Majocha), Ethan (Mawson) and Lexy (Majocha). Predeceased by her parents Margaret McEachren (nee. Hill) and Truman McEachern, her brother Paul McEachern, and most recently her brothers-in-law Barry and David Martin. Linda will be remembered as a spirited storyteller with a voracious appetite for reading. In her later years, she and Peter enjoyed many years as snowbirds in Florida where they collected new friends and adventures from cruising and playing games. She will be missed by many. Many special thanks to the incredible nurses and staff at the oncology out-patient services and the ICU department of Sarnia Bluewater Health for their kind support and for giving her hope on difficult days. Special thanks to Dr. Ketan Ghate for his genuine kindness and personable bedside manner. Friends are welcome to gather for a Celebration of Life at the Corunna Legion – (350 Albert Street Corunna, ON) on Saturday, March 2nd from 1-4 pm. Remembrances and condolences may be expressed to the family online in “Linda’s Guestbook” at mccormackfuneralshomesarnia.com. Pete and Family, we were so sorry to hear of Linda’s passing. We fondly remember the old days in Corunna by our pools and riotous laughter around the kitchen table in the winters before you became snowbirds. Wishing you peace during this time and trust your memories will carry you through. Remember to laugh because Linda loved to laugh.

Pete, Dawn and Tina, I am so very sorry for the loss of your beautiful wife/mother/grandmother. I will always remember Linda's beautiful smile and positivity. I have so many fond memories of our days playing hockey and Linda cheering us on. She even wrote a newsletter at one point, I think! She will be missed by so many.
