Obituary Announcement
On August 27th, 1921, Lillian Victoria (Vicki) Penney was born to Adelaide (Perry) and Bartlett Penney in Western Bay, Newfoundland, a small coastal village northwest of St. Johns’. Raised in Western Bay she later moved to St. Johns’ and during the war met George Chamberlain, who was serving in the Royal Canadian Navy (1939 to 1945). They married in December 1943. Vicki moved to Saint John, New Brunswick in 1944, the home of her husband, where their children, John and Lorna were born. In 1951 the family moved to Ontario and settled in Courtright until 1961, Mooretown (8th Line) until 1975 and finally Sarnia. Vicki was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother as well as a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. Vicki Chamberlain passed away on the 25th of August 2021, at Marshall Gowland Manor where she had been a resident since 2016. Vicki was predeceased by her husband, Austin Saint “George” Chamberlain, October 28th, 2004, and her daughter, Lorna Marie Chamberlain, April 23rd, 2011. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Mary (Mill) Wilcox, Ethel McCarthy, Beth Hennigar and Lincoln Penney. Vicki is survived by her favourite son, John Grayson Chamberlain, her grandchildren; Susan Brooke Chamberlain (Paul Rooke) and Gregory Spencer Chamberlain (Jennifer Collez-Gaudet) and her three great-grandchildren; Jonathan Maxwell Chamberlain, Kennedy M. Rooke and Camryn Glenn Rooke. She is also survived by her sisters, Maude Noseworthy (Wallaceburg, Ontario) and Marie Brown (Melrose, Massachusetts). The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Marshall Gowland Manor who took such good care of her these past years.
