Finley, Gilbert William VE3 DFU, WW II Air Force Veteran

Peacefully, after a brief illness in his 95th year on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at the Bluewater Health Centre Palliative Care Unit. Devoted husband for 72 years of Laurie “Ene” (n. Moran) and father of Diane (Terry), Cindy (Steve) and Greg (Penny). Grampa of Seth (Kristin), Shasta (Glen), Liam (Meg), and Meghan (Garrett). Great Grampa of Lucy, Moira, Ruby, Tilly and Imogen. Brother of Jack -deceased (Martha -deceased) and Eleanor (Art - deceased) and uncle of John (Donna), Kathrine (Alf), David (Catharine), Debbie (Ernie- deceased) and Paul (Ivy). Good friend of Bill Hoad. He was a long-time electrician at Dow Chemical of Canada when he retired in 1983. He and Laurie volunteered, danced and travelled the world until they settled at Landmark Village in 2016. Cremation has taken place. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Sarnia. Gil and Laurie were wonderful neighbors to my family for decades. Gotta love a man that puts a ladder over his fence so 5 kids could swim in their beautiful pool. God speed Gil! Was great to know you, Andrea Grevstad.

Laurie,Diane, Cindy and Greg, we are so sorry to see the passing of Gil. we think of you all often. He and all your family made a huge impression on our family. We will always remember when our TV was on the fritz we would always know Gil would come to our rescue. Brian has fond memories of working with him at DOW. Pineview and Briarfield was never the same after us kids grew up. Love to everyone Babs and Brian and all the Cleave Family.
