Bakker, Cornelia “Corrie” (n.Piel)

Peacefully and surrounded by her family, on Monday January 29, 2018, at Bluewater Health in Sarnia, at the age of 67. Corrie, was the loving wife of Douwe for 29 years. Loving mother of Amanda Poore and her husband Jordan, and Linsey Bakker and her fiancée Evan Robinson. Survived by her siblings Tina Klaas and her husband Henry, Bert Piel and his wife Ida, Bill Piel, Alice Doelman, and John Piel and his wife Stephanie. Remembered by her brother in law Steve Burns. Corrie will be deeply missed by her extended family and friends. Predeceased by her parents Rinske and Eizo Piel, her sister Judie Burns, and her brother in law Gerald Doelman. Friends will be received at McCormack Funeral Home – Stewart Chapel, 254 George Street (At College Avenue) on Thursday February 1st for visitation from 7- 9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Living Hope Christian Reformed Church, 1281 Exmouth Street, Friday February 2nd at 11 am. Cremation will follow. Remembrances and condolences may be expressed to the family online in “Corrie’s Guestbook” at mccormackfuneralhomesarnia.com. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson’s Society would be appreciated.

Please accept my sincere sympathies to all of Corrie’s family. I have not seen Corrie for some time. We used to meet them on May 24 weekends at John and Stephanie’s and had such good fun. My thoughts and prayers are with you now.
