CANIE, Rita
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden death of Rita Florence Canie on June 26, 2016. Mom was born December 20, 1935 in Timmins, On to Arthur Leo Desautels and Simone Marie Brissette. Predeceased by her husband, the love of her life, Richard (Dick) Canie on June 26, 2005. Survived by her daughter Janice Oakford (Blair), sons Gary (Patricia), Richard and Bruce (Dale), sister in laws Rita Canie and Connie Benson (Ray), 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, many nieces & nephews, aunts and cousins. A special thank you to Dr. Monique Dostaler, Cindy Canie & goddaughter Janet Laplante. Friends may call at the McCormack Funeral Home – Stewart Chapel, 254 George Street (at College Avenue) on Thursday June 30 from 6-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday July 1st at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, 293 Stuart Street at 10 am. Cremation will follow. Remembrances and condolences may be expressed to the family online in “Rita’s Guestbook” at mccormackfuneralhomesarnia.com. If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully appreciated.

So sad to hear of Rita's passing. We worked together for many years at Sears in the Girl's Wear/Children's Wear Dept. Such a fun loving lady, always telling me of her trips to Las Vegas and her trips to the casino in Point Edward & how good her children were to her. Lots of memories. Sincerely, Linda Williamson
