Allen; Hester
With her family by her side, on Friday June 17, 2016 at St Joseph’s Hospice in Sarnia, at the age of 75. Hester, beloved wife of the late Freddie (1970). Loving mother of Tony and his wife Missy. Cherished Gramma of Taylor (Cody), Alex (Karsten), Codi (Ashley), Scotty (Dexter) and the late Matthew (2009). Great grandmother of Carmen and Broady. Survived by her sister’s Jessie Coates and Isabelle Pauley and her brother’s Carmen Taylor (Abigail), Earl Taylor (Olive), and Gerald Taylor (Maria). Predeceased by her sister Lillian Sundby (2014). Cremation has taken place.Friends may call at the McCormack Funeral Home – Stewart Chapel, 254 George Street (at College Avenue) for Memorial Visitation on Tuesday June 21st from 7 – 9 pm. I was sorry to hear about Aunt Hester on Friday. Sympathy to the whole family. I will never forget staying with her and Tony when I was taken to Ontario when I was young.

Tony and family Hester was one of a kind. She was always fun to visit (we should have stopped by more often,) and she was so proud when she talked about her family. We will miss our lunches at the Cromwell Grill (for navy bean soup.) Last winter when we told her about going south, I noticed she whispered something in Janet's ear. When we left I asked Janet what was said and she replied, Hester had asked if we could "bring her back a man." That's the Aunt Hester I'll remember, a sense of humour in spite of her condition.

Your Message For The Family.
Tony and Missy, I was away and did not get the message of Aunt Hester's passing until I returned, after the funeral service had been held. I remember your mother as a young woman - she and Fred babysat us (my older sister, Sharon, my younger sister Cindy) a number of times when they were on the east coast. I was born in 1956, so I was 14 when Fred passed away. She left New Brunswick some time after that, and I left home at 17 when I finished high school. Hester looked quite a bit like my mother, Isabel, her older sister, both in youth and recently. They were born in tough times - it made them strong, resilient woman, with the ability to survive tragedy and overcome obstacles. I did not know your mother well in later years - my memories are all of a young woman faced with hardships and tragedy, but still smiling and laughing in many of my mother's pictures. I hope God finds a special place of peace and happiness for Aunt Hester. Andy Pauley
