Worton, Rita Alma,
Passed peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 18th, 2016 at Bluewater Health, Sarnia, to be with her Lord and Saviour after 91years of glory. Much beloved wife of Raymond Kenneth Worton for 67 years. Sadly missed by her son Clive Ian Worton, grandsons Adrian (Lindsay) and Aron (Jessica) and 4 great grandchildren. Loving sister of Sylvia Wilding (the late Leonard) and adopted sister Eunice Griffin. She will be fondly missed by her niece Helen Thompson (Dean), nephew Adam Wilding, Catherine Worton, Stephen (Esther) Hawkins, Diane Barney, Anita Mardenbough, Sheila and Brian Rooker. Rita was born in Smethwick, England and worked as an office clerk where she met Raymond. They married and operated a florist shop together in Birmingham for 19 yrs. In 1968, Rita and her family immigrated to Canada and settled in Sarnia. She worked for several clothing stores, and always maintained a love for fashion. Rita was a longstanding member of Bethel Church with an outstanding love for the Lord Jesus. She was the founder of Women’s Aglow Fellowship, Southwestern Ontario in 1976, also instrumental in the inception of Bethel Keenagers Ministry. Rita and Ray organized many spiritual adventure bus trips south, and were proud to worship with people from all faiths, walks of life, and the world. With her faith, compassion and charisma she was always willing to help and pray for those in need, and her spiritual love will be missed by many. Although missed, she was happy for the day when her Saviour called her home. A Memorial Service will be held at Bethel Church, Sarnia, Ontario Wednesday December 28th at 11.00 am. Remembrances and condolences may be expressed to the family online in “Rita’s Guestbook” at mccormackfuneralhomesarnia.com. In lieu of flowers, Rita’s request that donations be made to Bethel Church. Message For The Family.
We're so sorry we were not able to attend Rita's funeral. Rita has meant so much to us over the years, and we have so many fond memories of her. She brought much joy and love to those who knew her. We can picture her up in heaven, in perfect health, singing and dancing with others who have gone before her (including Addie, my sister and her much loved friend). Our thoughts and prayers go out to you all. Love, Carrol and Roger Collins
