Obituary

Winder, Cindy

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Cindy Winder on June 6, 2023. Beloved daughter of the late Marguerite and Robert Winder Sr. Survived by her siblings Robert Winder, Susan (Ed) Bilodeau and Tammy (late Shawn) Smith; Dear niece to David (Gloria), Jimmy (Tootsie), Joe (Debbie); loving and proud aunt to Robert (Kelly), Kristin (Evan); Ashley, Hailey; Connor (Kathleen), Colton (Jazmin) and Cali. She will be missed by many cousins and was a cherished friend of many. Beloved dog mama to her fur baby, Ali. Predeceased by her aunt Ilene. Cindy had a vibrant personality, heartfelt laugh and an infectious smile. She was thoughtful yet crafty; she loved the element of surprise and got a good chuckle from people's reactions. She was always up for an adventure and looking forward to planning the next one. She was an avid traveller and concert goer. She had a passion and zest for life that propelled her in both her personal and professional lives. "He who finds a friend, finds a treasure." From her radio days at CKJD, her administrative work in and around Lambton County to her many, many social circles, Cindy had formed many cherished friendships throughout her years and had a knack for keeping people connected. She was a natural leader and a valued friend. She was deeply loved by all who knew her and the loss of her will be felt for years to come. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at the McCormack Funeral Home, 254 George Street, (at College Avenue) for visitation on Wednesday June 14 from 5 to 8 pm. Words to be shared at 7 pm. An interment of Cindy’s cremated remains will take place at Lakeview Cemetery on Thursday June 15, at 2:30 pm. Remembrances and condolences may be expressed to the family online in “Cindy’s Guestbook” at mccormackfuneralhomesarnia.com. If desired, remembrances to either the Sarnia Humane Society or the Arthritis Society Canada would be appreciated.

My heart goes out to Cindy’s family and friends.
I had the pleasure to spend an evening with Cindy at my sister’s house when she popped in for a visit quite a few years ago. I was visiting from out of town and we had a fabulous evening filled with lots of laughter. She was a special woman and I am so sorry to learn that her life is gone too soon. I know that Kathie will sure miss her.
My deepest condolences to all who knew and loved her.

Rob, Tammy, Susie and families Please know you’re in my thoughts, I loved your sister and like most everyone who knew her I’m heart broken to hear of her passing. She was a bright light to everyone in her path, a friend to all and while she didn’t always have things easy and often was in pain from RA she always had a smile or cheerful laugh everytime you were in her presence. She was a friend to Gary when he needed her most, she quickly became my first real friend when I moved to Sarnia and no matter the time between our chats it was as if no time passed. I like many have said am heartbroken💔It’s time to rest now Cindy but I will never forget the beautiful friend you were to me. Keep smiling ‘twinkle toes’’ I’ll never forget you. RIP Beverley Boone

To the entire Winder family, especially Sue who I worked with at Sunripe, Please accept my most sincere condolences of this huge loss. I knew Cindy from her CKJD days and onward. Having a couple of businesses in town at that time, I often had Cindy working developing ad campaigns and such. She was always wearing that bright, contagious smile of hers. She made a huge impact on so many people. Take comfort in knowing that she was loved and respected by so many, myself included. Thinking of you all at this difficult time.
