Matson, Douglas “Doug” Hamilton

Peacefully, with his family by his side, on Tuesday July 25, 2023, at Bluewater Health in Sarnia, at the age of 94. Doug was the beloved husband of Evelyn for 70 years. Loving father of Tracy Foster and her husband Jim, and daughter-in-law Lee Matson. Cherished grandpa of Spencer, Savannah, Ethan, Alyssa and Olivia, and great grandpa of Syriss and Rhylee. Doug was predeceased by his son Dale, his parents Milt and Iyla Matson, and his brother Jim. Doug was a long time employee of Cabot Canada Ltd, and member of Sarnia Golf Club. He enjoyed travelling to Florida, Europe, Egypt and all across Canada. Doug loved fishing, bowling, camping and working on stained glass projects. Skiing was one of his favourite hobbies, which he enjoyed with his whole family. A special thank you to all the PSW’s, the Dialysis Unit, and the staff at Bluewater Health for the compassionate care Doug received. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at McCormack Funeral Home, 254 George Street (at College Avenue) for Memorial Visitation on Tuesday August 1 from 12 to 1 pm.
