Barbara passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Friday June 29, 2023, at Bluewater Health in Sarnia, at the age of 85. Barbara was a loving wife, stepmother, sister, and nanny. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry Junek. Loving stepmother of Gail Ward (the late Patrick), the late Dan Junek, and Jody Portelance (Barry Ouimet). Sister to Vivian Kelsey and Sandra Maw, and aunt to Kelly Sonne (Scott). Nanny to Carissa Maltby (Darrel), Kelli Carty (Wayne), and Jeromy Baxter, and the late Christopher Ward and Meddie Ouimet, and loving great-nanny to Tyler and Emily Maltby. Predeceased by her sister Marlene Such and Marlene’s son Peter Sazonov (Cindy). She had a love for animals and was active in feline rescue efforts. She was a school bus driver for several years, which brought her much joy dealing with the students, who loved her back. She also co-owned a wedding decoration business called White Lace and Promises. She will be missed by all her family and friends. At Barbara’s request, a private family service will take place at a later date.
