Obituary

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a dear husband, father, and papa. Rick Wayne Janess of Sarnia, Ontario passed away peacefully with his loved ones by his side on Tuesday January 3, 2023, at the age of 67. Cherished by his wife Lori, his forever love of 45 years. Proud father of his three sons Rick Jr (Carmen), Chad and Kevin. Rick loved being with the whole family and especially his grandkids. He was the best Papa to Clark, Simone, Deacon, Savannah and Jakob, and son-in-law to Jean Savoy and the late Joe Savoy. Rick had lots of love and good times with his siblings all through the years. He will be remembered fondly by Joan (Marty), Jean Peeling (Ed), Bill (Lori) Janess, and Fred Janess, and his in-law’s Cathy Murphy (Stu), Ed Downie (Larissa) and Randy Pullen, along with many nieces and nephews. Rick is the son of the late Richard (Dick) Janess and stepmother Thelma, and the late Shirley Lester (Larry), and his late sister Cheryl. Rick looked forward to his yearly fishing/camping trips up north. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan, loved old western movies, antique shows and online poker. Rick owned and operated Corunna Collision for 30 years. Rick always gave a helping hand, sound advice and was never short on stories. A special thank you to Dr. Crombeen, Dr. MacSweeney and our home care nurse Theresa. Remembrances and condolences may be expressed to the family online in “Rick’s Guestbook” at mccormackfuneralhomesarnia.com.

Rick/Dad/Papa you will always be loved, forever missed and never forgotten.
