Obituary

EDWARD ARTHUR ALBERT GINN

With deep sadness we announce the passing of Edward Arthur Albert Ginn at his home on July 21, 2025, in his 90th year. Edward is survived by his wife of 67 years, Helen, sons Harold (Carol) and Michael (Kim), grandsons Nicholas (Colleen) and Matthew, and new great-grandson Cameron. Born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland in 1936, Ed started his private career at Beebe Refrigeration in Fort William, but soon landed a job at Dow Chemical there in 1965 that eventually brought him to Sarnia. In Sarnia Ed developed and enjoyed friendships that would last his lifetime. He was a caring, generous, always friendly person who liked to quietly help others. On his 50th birthday he donated his 50th pint of blood. Lemon desserts would never fail to bring a smile to his face, and he was always up for a game of euchre or a good puzzle. Ed was fortunate to enjoy 32 years of retirement and during that time he and Helen travelled to Europe, went on river cruises, played golf, and enjoyed monthly dinner club with friends for many years. Ed especially looked forward to family dinners (and they were always followed by a family group photo). He flew a Harvard in the RCAF, but steadfastly refused a Veteran’s licence plate. Edward was predeceased by his parents Amy and Harold Ginn, sister Beverly McCullough and brother Richard Ginn. Cremation has taken place. As per Edward’s wishes there will not be a formal service. Remembrances and condolences may be expressed to the family online in “Ed’s Guestbook” at mccormackfuneralhomesarnia.com. If desired, memorial donations to Sarnia Humane Society or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Our condolences to Helen and her family. We are thinking of you. I know Edward would have appreciated the words of this renowned poet, in his memory.

Time is too slow for those who wait
Too swift for those who fear
Too long for those who grieve
Too short for those who rejoice
But for those who love, time is Eternity.
