Obituary

Fraser, John “Jake” Michael
Oil Springs resident, John Michael Fraser (Jake), 65, died peacefully on June 22, 2022. Born February 27th, 1957, in Sarnia, Ontario to Jack and Shirley Fraser, he was the oldest of four brothers. He loved spending time in his garage working on (and swearing at) engines and fixing up old cars. A hobby pilot, Jake also enjoyed flying, crashing, and repairing airplanes, a passion he shared with his late father, Jack. He was always quick to treat his grandchildren to snacks their parents didn't approve of and of course, love. Anyone who knew him, knew he loved to chat and had a very large heart. Jake worked for many years at Ontario Power Generation as a heavy equipment operator. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Lori; daughter, Selena and sons, Shane and Kyle; four grandchildren; and many others who loved him. May he rest beside his loved ones in silent lucidity. The Fraser Family would like to thank all of the healthcare workers at Bluewater Health and the Palliative Care Team for putting up with him, with a special thank you to Sam and Dr. Kim, as well as the staff and volunteers at St. Joseph's Hospice. At his request, no service will be held. A celebration of life will be held at his home on Sunday July 24, 2022; all are welcome to drop-in between 11 am and 4 pm. Classic cars and lawn chairs are much welcomed! Remembrances and condolences may be expressed to the family online in “Jake’s Guestbook” at mccormackfuneralhomesarnia.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Joseph’s Hospice, 475 Christina St. N, Sarnia, ON, N7T 5W3.
