Obituary
Dowswell, Randall "Randy"
Randy is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Linda; his daughters, Ashleigh and Brooke; and his sons-in-law, Jeff and Bryan. He was a proud and deeply cherished grandpa to Gabby, Audrey, and Harrison. He will also be fondly remembered by his mother-in-law, Olive Taylor; his brothers, Ken (Penny) and Tony (Vicki); his sisters, Karen (Mark) and Joanne (Rob); his brother-in-law, Ken; his sisters-in-law, Donna, Laura, and Sue; his many nieces and nephews; and his loyal dog, Winston, his little buddy. He was predeceased by his father, Earl Dowswell; his mother, Bertha Dowswell; and his father-in-law, Earl Taylor. Randy was a man who truly loved being with people. Whether gathered around the kitchen, sharing a meal, or engaging in one of his legendary conversations, he had a gift for gab and a sharp, good-natured sense of sarcasm that made everyone smile. He was known for his Randy’s Rants, which were delivered with passion and humour, and for his many requested recipes—most famously, his unforgettable mac and cheese. A talented Red Seal chef, Randy was retired from Afton Park Place and had worked in many restaurants. When Randy cooked, it was always an expression of love. In quieter moments, he could often be found crocheting, thoughtfully creating blankets for the dialysis unit. He also cherished simply spending time with family and friends—the place where he was happiest. Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Remembrances and condolences may be expressed to the family online in “Randy’s Guestbook” at mccormackfuneralhomesarnia.com. In lieu of flowers, donations in Randy’s memory may be made to the London Health Sciences Foundation – Kidney Transplant Unit or Dialysis Unit. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his warmth, wit, and the love he shared so generously with all who knew him.

Deepest sympathy to Linda, Ashleigh, and Brooke and families. Randy was a great coworker at Afton Park. I enjoyed many shifts working with him exchanging sarcastic comments back and forth. We enjoyed are get-togethers and dives with him and Linda. I will greatly miss him. I am sure he will still make his presence known somewhere somehow. His memory will live on within our hearts.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I only met Randy a handful of times back when Ashleigh and I were in high school, but he was definitely a man full of love and laughter.
