Obituary

Cameron, Maurice Alan
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Maurice Alan Cameron, who was born in Dayton Township in 1934 and passed away on August 17, 2026, at Trillium Villa in Sarnia.

Maurice was the much-loved husband of Marg for 64 years, and together they built a life grounded in family, loyalty, and love. He was a devoted father to Carol (Stephen) and Ken (Renuka), and a proud grandfather to Stewart (Raquel), Sarah (Greg), and Megan (Lucas). He is also survived by his sister Norma Cameron and sister-in-law Marnie Cameron. Maurice and was predeceased by his brother Earl.

As the saying goes, “You can take the boy out of the farm, but you can’t take the farm out of the boy.” That was Maurice. His farm roots stayed with him in the best ways—in his steady hands, practical nature, quiet humour, and appreciation for a good day spent outdoors. He loved nature, fishing, playing bridge, curling, golfing, and puttering on the farm. He was a longtime member of Grace United Church and the Bluewater Anglers, and took pride in his career with Ontario Hydro, from which he retired.

Maurice was a man of few words, but those who knew him understood how much was said in his presence. He showed his love not through grand gestures, but through constancy—by being there, sharing time, enjoying a laugh, offering quiet support, and taking pleasure in the company of friends and family. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his quiet strength, and the deep sense of home and belonging he gave to those closest to him.
