It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Jim Yarkovsky on February 7, 2017. He died at Trillium Villa surrounded by his loving family. Jim is predeceased by Joan, his wife of 68 years. He is survived by his daughter Susan (Olsson), grandchildren Anna Yarkovsky and Mimi Olsson, son Steven and his life partner, Robert Kennedy. He is also survived by his sister Anne Fisher and her life-partner Cor Herwinger, and brother Joe Yarkovsky and his wife Donna. A Memorial Mass was held at Our Lady of Mercy Church. Cremation has taken place and Jim will be laid to rest at our Lady of Mercy Cemetery at a later date. Remembrances and condolences may be expressed to the family online in “Jim’s Guestbook” at mccormackfuneralhomesarnia.com. Jim was a long-time member of both St. Vincent de Paul and the Knights of Columbus. With joy, Jim and Joan made a generous donation to begin to grow a fund to assist persons interested and committed to a trade career. This was the birth of the Sarnia Lambton Society of St. Vincent de Paul/J&JY Trades Scholarship Fund. Flowers gratefully declined; rather donations in Joan’s memory for the continued growth of this fund can be made through the Sarnia Community Foundation, 110-560 Exmouth St, Sarnia, ON N7T 5P5, Canada. Arrangements entrusted to McCormack Funeral Home – Stewart Chapel, 254 George Street Sarnia.

My deepest sympathy to the Yarkovsky family on Jim's passing. He was always a very kind man. My dad, John Sikora, and Jim were first cousins. When I was much younger we visited with all of you in Canada, and as well you visited with us in Detroit. Most sincerely, Barbara (Sikora) Pawlusiak

We are sad to learn of Jim's passing. He was a very good man. Knew both Jim and Joan (Bazeley) since 1940"s. Kay's sister Marie married Joan's brother Ivan Bazeley. We have many happy and joyous thoughts of both Jim and Joan.

Susan, Steven and family, So very sorry for your loss, I remember both your mom and dad and liked them very much. My son and I are both Vincentians in Sarnia Lambton and have been very aware of this generous donation of the trade scholarship for the SVDP. Your parents were very thoughtful and generous people. I was proud to have known them both. My condolences to you and your families, Paddy Cunningham and Fay Cunningham and Family
