Obituary

Robert (Rob) Nelson McFarlane

November 16, 1946 – June 19, 2024.

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Rob McFarlane of Sarnia in his 77th year on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, with his family by his side. Proud father of Rob Jr. of Woodstock, caring grandfather of Justin, Sam and Kailey, uncle of Julie Towns (Darren) of Ripley, and friend and former husband of Ingrid McFarlane of Sarnia. Predeceased by parents Nelson and Irene McFarlane, brother, John (2021) and daughter, Kirsten (2024). Rob spent most of his working career in sales. From selling men’s clothing at an early age, to sporting equipment to boats, he loved every minute of it. He enjoyed sharing his enthusiasm for boating and teaching others the ropes of navigation. Rob loved cooking, Tom Clancy novels, and war movies. He couldn’t tell a joke if his life depended on it, and Bob Seger’s “Old Time Rock n’ Roll” was one of his favourite songs. His most memorable times were boating up in the North Channel with Ingrid. Special thanks to the oncology team at Bluewater Health and Dr. David Kim. As per Rob’s wishes, a private family service has taken place. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Sarnia Humane Society. Arrangements entrusted to McCormack Funeral Home in Sarnia.
