Very sad to hear of your loss and wishing you comfort at this time. I worked with Vic at Fisheries and Oceans Canada where his ability to see the good in people, his efforts to facilitate positive outcomes, and his willingness to tackle 'the right thing to do' were hallmarks of the very best in public service.

Vic brought his wise, gentle and kind approach to our Sarnia office each day. We shared cups of tea in the lunchroom which always included words of inspiration from Vic and a discussion about the love he had for his family. Each conversation with Vic was meaningful to me a felt like a warm walk in the woods. Vic practiced compassion and kindness with everyone he interacted with in our office. My heartfelt sympathy to your family for the loss of this wonderful man. ..... Judy Morin

I was fortunate to have been able to work with Vic at DFO on several occasions. What a wonderful, happy, gentle soul. He could clearly see what was the real issue in difficult situations and gently guide those involved to see the issue for ourselves. All the time doing it with great care and respect. He didn’t care who you were or what your position was – you were a person and had value. He will be greatly missed.

Condolences to the extended Dupuis family. I had the pleasure of working with Vic at fisheries and oceans Canada, the Canadian Coast Guard for many years. Vic was instrumental in helping us through challenging situations and specifically helpful to me when I often dropped by his office for a chat. As we all know, Vic was also instrumental on stage. I was very happy when Vic took the stage at the Mary Webb Centre (Highgate) with the rocking blues band of James Boraski. He was stage left, a bit to the rear with a big smile on his face playing the sax. During intermission and after the show people said that sax player was the coolest dude on the stage. It was probably both his music and a smile - his happiness certainly shone through. My thoughts are with all of you at this time.

Our deepest condolences to Vic's family. Vic's kindness and incredible interpersonal skills made him a natural for his role as counselor through which he became a true friend of Fisheries and Oceans staff throughout the region. One of my many fond memories of Vic is his entertainment on the sax during our organization's Christmas parties in Sarnia. May the great memories you have of Vic give you strength during the coming days.

Very sorry to hear of Vic's passing. He did so much for our office here in the Soo and we had many great times after hours enjoying Vic's great sax playing abilities at several local establishments. My musician friends were always very excited to hear that "Vic" was coming to the Soo and they would have the chance to hear and play a few tunes with him. He will be greatly missed!! Vic touched the lives of many of us young professionals as we navigated difficult situations in our offices across Canada. Through the conflict management courses he led, I know he has changed mine and many others' personal and professional lives for the better! Thanks Vic.

My deepest sympathies for your loss. I had the pleasure of having Vic deliver training to my office, and help myself and coworkers/friends with a difficult situation. While my time with Vic was short, it took no time at all to tell that he was such a light, so positive, and could humanize the most difficult of situations. He truly did touch and improve many lives. Thank you for sharing Vic with us, and I hope you find peace and healing in the coming days.
