Bissonnette, Raymond “Ray” Ivan Joseph

Peacefully on Monday July 13, 2020 at Bluewater Health in Sarnia at the age of 86. Raymond was the beloved husband of Shirley (n. Ramsey) for 60 years. Loving father of Diana Lynn Besse and her husband Daniel, and Michelle Lee Timmers and her partner Jim “Jimbo” Gillespie. Grandfather of Eric Timmers, Danielle “Dani” Timmers and her special friend Goran Mamika, Jacqueline Besse, Jaered Besse and Jenna Besse. Also remembered by his former son-in-law Daniel Timmers. Raymond was predeceased by his parents Zephere and Evelyn (n. Dargus) Bissonnette, and his siblings Vernon Bissonnette, Ariel Glombowski, Hildred LeFaive, and Louella McGirr. Raymond worked at the Purity Dairy and Ault Foods for 40 plus years, was an avid golfer, bowler and enjoyed playing euchre, bridge and other card games. He was especially fond of social gatherings with his family and his life-long friends Omer and Anne Gagne, Arnold and Susan Kaija, Al and Anita Katunen, Brian “Red” and Rachel Adamson, Johnny and Eunice Frlais and Harry Kershaw, and many others. Thank you to all the staff at Afton Park Place for their wonderful care of Dad for the last year and a half. A special thank you to Dr Kim, and nurses Kelsey, Stephanie, Danielle, and Mandy in Palliative Care at Bluewater Health. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the McCormack Funeral Home – Stewart Chapel, 254 George Street (at College Avenue) for Memorial Visitation on Saturday, August 15 from 11:00 - 12:30 p.m. Scattering of cremated remains at the Point Lands Scattering Steps to follow afterward. Remembrances and condolences may be expressed to the family online in “Ray's Guestbook” at mccormackfuneralhomesarnia.com. Donations to the Palliative Care Unit at Bluewater Health would be appreciated.
