Dokis, Leo Joseph
In loving memory of Leo J. Dokis, 86 years, who passed away on Wednesday December 14, 2022 at Bluewater Health in Sarnia. Beloved father of Mark Steven and Rebecca Anne Kohlman (Daniel), Gramps to William and Alex Kholman. Dear brother of Mel (Patricia) of North Bay. Predeceased by his parents Fred and Amelia (Goulais) Dokis, and siblings Maurice, Neil, Gail, Raymond and Allan. Leo was born in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario. He settled into the Sarnia, Ontario area in 1949. He had been involved in various marine and land construction projects through out his working career. Employed in Detroit after the riots as a production control technician, corpsman, and personnel manager. He was a well-known percussionist and had been involved in many small musical groups. He was briefly a member of the 3rd R.C.R. marching band stationed at the Dundas Street Armory in London Ontario. He was a graduate of St. Patrick’s High School (1955) on Sarnia and graduated from Nippissing University, (1994) at North Bay with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Cremation has taken place. There will be no services as per Mr. Dokis’s request. Donations to the charity of your choice.
