Obituary

Thompson, Jacqueline Ann “Jaklyn”

Peacefully, on Tuesday August 5th, 2025, at Bluewater Health in Sarnia, at the age of 62. Jaklyn was courageous and determined, nothing held her back. She lived life to the fullest. She was an accomplished equestrian, sulky driver, horse trainer, trail bike rider, and inline skater. Jaklyn was also a long-distance truck driver. That's where she met Steve, the love of her life for 25 years. Her smile and dimples warmed your heart; her laughter was always contagious. She left us not with sadness, but with wonderful memories and stories to tell. Jaklyn will be missed by her loving husband Steve Thompson. Mother of Piper Mate (Emma Blauser), and stepmother to Adam Thompson (Sara), Ryan Thompson (Faith), Nicole Coates (Richie) and Craig Thompson. Cherished grandmother of Olivia and Austin. Jaklyn will be remembered by her wonderful sisters Gail Brand (Jim), Karen Vandeweghe (Ron), and Paul Denny (Julie VanderMeer). Dear aunt to Liz Brand, Stephanie Brand (Trent Matley), Jason Valliere (Tara Grisimsdith), Brianna Phelan (Ewan), Keith Denny, and Karl Denny, and great aunt to Madison Grisimsdith, Ava Marie Valliere, Phoenix Grisimsdith, Alexander Valliere, Finley Phelan, and Sara Phelan. Jaklyn was predeceased by her parents Patricia and Eric Denny, and her brother Keith Denny. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Jaklyn’s Life will take place on Saturday November 1, 2025, at the St Clair Corporate Centre, 265 Front Street N., 5th Floor, Sarnia, from 11 – 3 pm. Remembrances and condolences may be expressed to the family online in “Jaklyn’s Guestbook” at mccormackfuneralhomesarnia.com.
