Obituary Announcement

GRANDMAISON, Michael William

We are saddened to announce the passing of Michael William Grandmaison, on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at the age of 32.  Mike was the loving father and number one fan of his son, Memphis William, and was dearly loved by his mother, Sherry Grandmaison, and his father, Tad Head (Kathy Gleeson).  He leaves behind his grandmother, Patricia Head, and his aunts and uncle, Belinda VanKoughnett of Kingston and Kelly Waters (Lloyd) of Sarnia.  He will be sadly missed by his cousins, Lynn Millar and Dani-Lynn Millar both from Kingston, Andrew Genovy (Ashley Keith), Cameron Waters (Katsie Farhat) and Justine Waters (Jerad Storr) and their families along with Memphis’ mother, Nicole LaChance, his extended family members in London and his many, many friends who are too numerous to mention. Mike was predeceased by his grandparents, Dianne Grandmaison (2002) and Kenneth William Head (2014) and his aunt and uncle, Kim Genovy (2004) (Tony 2012), who will be welcoming him in heaven with open arms. Mike graduated from Lambton College at the top of his class in 2018 and proudly earned a diploma in Mechanical AutoCad. He was last employed at Tecsar Engineering in Sarnia. He enjoyed working on his race cars, riding motorcycles, snowboarding and skateboarding. He loved being with his friends and enjoying life. Remembrances and condolences may be expressed to the family online in “Michael’s Guestbook” at mccormackfuneralhomesarnia.com. There will be a memorial ride in Mike’s honour on Sunday, July 18, 2021, meeting at 11:00 am at the Lady Luck Riders Motorcycle Club at 3014 Michigan Line. Leaving at noon and returning at 1:00 with a small get-together to follow.  An “Educational Fundraiser for his Son Memphis” will be held at Wild Wings on Christina St. starting at 3:30pm – All are Welcome.  Please see the Lady Luck Riders Facebook Page for details. Due to COVID restrictions a Celebration of Mike’s Life will also be held by his parents Sherry Grandmaison and Tad Head on Friday August 27th, 2021, at a venue to be announced. A “Celebration of Life” will be held later at a date to be determined.  If you wish, donations can be made to Cat Chance or the charity of your choice.

We all loved you Mike and you will live forever in our hearts.

I had the pleasure of attending Lambton with Mike and then working with him at Tecsar. He was so helpful in class when I wasn’t sure of something and he was a pleasure to work with in the field. I’m so saddened by his passing and I hope he’s found some peace. RIP Mike. Thank you for always being kind to me.

Sherry and Tad. I am so saddened by the news of the loss of your special young man Michael. He was a light who shone bright whenever I was in his presence. He was always inquisitive, wanting to learn more, to use his many talents to create, experience and build and his most special talent was as a father who loved his son. My thoughts are with you both and with all his friends and family whose lives were enriched by knowing him. From Virginia, Phil and Ce
