Obituary

Barbara Alice Noel (nee Button)

February 25,1933-September 28, 2025

With family by her side, Barbara Alice passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 28, 2025, in Corunna, Ontario. She was predeceased 10 years ago by her best friend and husband, Graham Noel. She is survived by her three children, David, Alison (Dennis) and Joan. Her grandchildren: Meagan, Matthew (Diane), Kimberly (Steven), Becky (Shane), Nathan and great grandchildren, Nolan and Kennedy, will remember her fondly. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings and their spouses Frank Button (Vida) and Joan McArthur (Doug).

Barbara was born and raised in Verdun, Quebec, and brought up her family in Candiac, Quebec before moving to Ontario in 1985 where she and Graham enjoyed many years in London, Southampton, Sarnia, and later after Graham’s passing, in Corunna. Barbara loved the water, and it shaped many of her travels to lakes of Quebec in cottage country, family camping in Vermont, and the sunsets and beaches in southwestern Ontario, to the many beaches in Florida and Corpus Christi, Texas.

Barbara was very accomplished at whatever she chose to do including basketball, bowling, curling, playing and teaching bridge, sewing, knitting, and weaving. In addition, she enjoyed an early career as a director in sales and marketing followed by raising children and selling Avon. As the youngest child entered high school, Barbara returned to work as an office manager for the school board and later joined the family business in the same role. She continually furthered her education by taking a small business course as well as DOS and computerized accounting courses to keep up with the times to capture opportunity and help small businesses adapt to computerized accounting systems.

Special thank you to Dr. Lau, Dr. Al-Saadon, PSWs Dolores and Gonika for their help in caring for Barbara.

Barbara had chosen not to have a visitation or a celebration of life.
Remembrances and condolences may be expressed to the family online in “Barbara Guestbook” at mccormackfuneralhomesarnia.com. If desired, a donation to your local hospice would be appreciated.
