Obituary
It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Mark Alvin Junek, at the age of 68, on August 11, 2026. Born on April 25, 1958, Mark lived a full and meaningful life until health complications made it difficult to navigate a normal life. He was a truck parts salesman in Calgary and knew the make and model of every car and truck on the road. After moving back to Sarnia in 2019, he loved spending time with his family and thoroughly enjoyed his last few winters in sunny Florida. Mark shared 25 wonderful years with his best friend and partner, Annet Shea. He was the father of Brittany, stepfather to Colin Shea (Kelsi), and Jordan Shea and Grandpa to Owen and Austin Shea. He was predeceased by his parents, Alvin and Doreen. Mark is survived by his sisters Candy Pollard and Cindy Lacourse (Jim DeRush) as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses in the Intensive Care and Telemetry Units at Bluewater Health for their care and compassion. As per Mark’s wishes, there will be no memorial services held. Remembrances and condolences may be expressed to the family online in “Mark’s Guestbook” at mccormackfuneralhomesarnia.com. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mark’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
