Obituary
Hawryluk, Laurie Ann
On May 4, 2024, our larger than life sister, Laurie Hawryluk 65, joined her heavenly family. Her recent near death experience left her unafraid and ready to be reunited with them again. Her personality was a force to be reckoned with. Love her or not, you couldn’t ignore her. Everything about her was large - her love of family and friends, especially her brothers-in-law Ralph and Peter Hawryluk and our sister Jackie, her laugh, her sense of humour, her enjoyment of little things, her enthusiasm, her generosity, her pets, elephants, lighthouses, the Legionnaires, TV bingo, chips under the bridge and her ever present Tims. Her clothes were loud and funky like her. Life was not always easy for Laurie. As a child with degenerative bone disease, she wore various devices on her legs. Rather than complain, she found ways to stay active, which meant lots of trips to London for repairs. She was predeceased by her parents Ken and Grace Sole, sister Peggy Ennett, brothers-in-law Al Canie, Steve Last and Rick Ennett and sister-in-law Gerry Sole. She is survived by her partner Steve Toneri, sisters Cheryl Canie, Jackie Smith (Steve), Julie Last (Rick Foster), brother Ken Sole (Judy Moffatt) and her cherished nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Laurie’s Life will be held at the Point Edward Community Hall, 210 Monk Street, in Point Edward, on Wednesday May 22nd from 5 – 8 pm. Remembrances and condolences may be expressed to the family online in in “Laurie’s Guestbook” at mccormackfuneralhomesarnia.com. Donations to Sarnia Humane Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
