Obituary Announcement
Stebbins; Maxine Dorothy
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother Maxine Stebbins (nee Davidson) peacefully at Bluewater Health on Saturday November 26, 2016 at the age of 94. Loving mother of Larry (Patty), Bob (Susan), Paul (Rose), and Cathy (Dave Haywood). Grandmother of Jennifer, Christopher, Mark, Anne, Corey, Katie and Dan and great grandmother of Makayla, Kayleigh, Chloe, Hailey, Áine, Xavier and Gillian. Maxine was predeceased by her brother Howard Davidson and her sister Marg Lee. She is survived by her sister Audrey Moore. Maxine was a proud long-time resident of Point Edward. She never had a driver’s licence but that didn’t hinder her from getting around. Even into her mid eighties she walked everywhere and thought nothing of walking downtown to meet her friends to play cards. A loyal friend, she valued these relationships and nurtured them life long. The unwritten recipes for her coveted butter tarts and pies will remain a mystery. She is now reunited with our Dad, Ervyn, her husband of 72 yrs (2014). Her journey continues, as does ours now without her. It is with great sadness that we say goodbye. Friends may call at the McCormack Funeral Home – Stewart Chapel, 254 George Street (at College Avenue) on Monday November 28 from 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at McCormack Funeral Home on Tuesday November 29 at 11 am. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Remembrances and condolences may be expressed to the family online in “Maxine’s Guestbook” at mccormackfuneralhomesarnia.com. Donations to the Canadian Alzheimer’s Society or the Bluewater Health Foundation would be gratefully appreciated.
